September 2007 The School Food Trust's second school meals annual survey in England.
The School Food Trust has released its second annual survey of take-up of school meals in England.
Conducted in April 2007, the survey highlights that in primary schools in England, take up has fallen on average by 1% and in secondary schools, take-up has fallen on average by 5%. The findings suggest that the decline in take-up in primary schools has now stopped.
The Trust is well aware that some LAs have faced challenges to maintain or increase take-up in this last year. But it is important to note that some regions, and many LAs, have actually increased take up in the last year.
