May 2010 School Food Trust’s ninth headteachers panel survey.
The aims of the present survey were to assess:
- Walking to school
- Food outlets around the school
- “Stay-on-site” and “Closed gate” policies
- Whether school provides catering service in house
- Meal service provided / Free school meals
- Financial arrangements associated with the school’s catering service
- Suitability of school’s dining space
- Meeting food and nutrient standards
- Cashless catering systems
Findings from the surveys represent a broad cross-section of views of headteachers regarding catering provision in their schools.
