Meal Deal conference (03/16/2010)

The School Food Trust will be holding a Meal Deal conference on the 16th March 2010 to share the learning gained from the Meal Deal pilots. The conference will include presentations and workshops from Local Authorities, schools and nutritionists who were involved in the pilots.

Then join our small step improvements programme and become a  school that has made a difference.

Places allocated on first come first served basis.

Prerequisite for attendance

• You must attend all three workshops
• The unit manager and a member of the senior leadership team will make up the minimum delegate team for each school
• You must be committed as a school to change
• You must be able to provide daily take up data for 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.  Your local authority will be able to help you with this.

The small step improvements programme
The school food trust has been working on a small step improvements programme with schools across the country.   Over the period of the programme, we task each participating school to increase take up of healthy meals by improving the school meals service for the customer.

The programme itself consists of three workshops, where a small team from each school (including a member of the kitchen staff and the schools leadership team) discuss changes, how they were made and evaluate them.
